COMMAND 5 (1985)...Wings Hauser Month!

We celebrate Wings Hauser month by watching a TV movie that was a pilot for an action series. A ragtag group of misfit cops are handpicked to form a domestic crime strike-force. Our buddy Wings is the short-fuse hothead who drinks Scotch-and-milks.

Rambu (The Intruder)

We're covering Pembalasan Rambu (aka The Intruder, aka Rambu: The Intruder), starring Peter "The Stabilizer" O'Brian, for our next ep. The only version on YouTube was a German dub and that's no fun for us! So, we uploaded an English version and made it private to share with you. Let's see how doing it this way works. Let us know if you have any problems watching or sharing it.

Lady Street Fighter (1981)

Matt tries to make sense of James Bryan & Renee Harmon's glorious grindhouse mess LADY STREET FIGHTER with guests John Morgan (a decorated TCTT veteran of Bryan/Harmon's THE EXECUTIONER, PART II) and first-time guest Ben. We had a blast picking up the pieces of our minds.

TCTT Goes A*P*E at the Movies!

TCTT goes to the movies! Joined by JB from The Broken Plane Podcast, we ventured out to Joy Cinema to see A*P*E, a 3-D quickie aimed at beating Dino De Laurentiis' big-budget and much-hyped remake of KING KONG to the screen.
Shot in South Korea on a budget of $23,000 in 14 days, this one doesn't quite measure up to the Jeff Bridges one, but does that one have King Kong flipping the camera off? No, I didn't think so. How many 3-D snakes are thrown at and knock over the camera in that one

? Zero? Hard pass.

Weng Weng in D'Wild Wild Weng!

Matt is joined by Gordie Adams and Rolito Galagate to discuss D'Wild Wild Weng, a western comedy adventure starring the 2' 9" martial arts film star of the Philippines Weng Weng. Mr. Weng and Gordon are sent to the Mexican region of the Philippines to investigate the death of the mayor of Santa Monica, a town that has been taken over by the evil Sebastian and his horde of Mexican stereotypes along with Ku Manchu and his samurai (ninjas).

Yep.

Gordie podcasts, too. Check out his Gordcast.

TWIN DRAGON ENCOUNTER (1986)

Matt is joined by Kyle and Adam to discuss the 1986 Canuxploitation martial arts classic TWIN DRAGON ENCOUNTER. Mullets, mustaches, matching vans...SOLD! This movie stars Michael and Martin McNamara, twin kickboxing brothers who produced the film to brand themselves as Canada's answer to Chuck Norris (or the animated version of Rambo).

The Executioner, Part II

Matt is joined by Jesse and John Morgan to discuss this James Bryan (Don't Go Into the Woods Alone) directed, Renee Harmon (Frozen Scream) written bit of vigilante sleaze.
- There is no Part I, by the way.
- I don't think PTSD-sploitation has been officially coined yet...so "dibs!"
- Starring Chris Mitchum, Renee Harmon, and Aldo Ray.

Jesse provided a haiku poem:
the grenade slips down
use the gun, never bullets
transitions are for punks

GETEVEN (a/k/a Road to Revenge, a/k/a Champagne & Bullets)

A classic lineup of Matt, Kyle, and Joe watched the 1993 action-romance-kung fu-revenge movie GETEVEN, written by, directed by, produced by, starring, songs by, and starring John de Hart. This movie didn't get wide release until some re-shoots were done in 2007 and, man, oh, man, was it worth the wait. You've got Satanic drug dealing judges, leather pants, gratuitous sex scenes, and some bananas original songs. We couldn't shut up about this one. Get it on iTunes or HERE.

Andy Sidaris Podcrawl, Y'all!

Hey, gang,
Our show is joining a podcast network called The Podratic Equation. More info about the other shows will be coming soon, but to celebrate the occasion, we decided to each feature an Andy Sidaris film on our shows. A few years ago (!!!) we talked about Sidaris' ENEMY GOLD.

This time Matt talked with John Morgan and Rob Hafferman about the infamous HARD TICKET TO HAWAII, which achieved notoriety due to clips from Everything is Terrible, but the crazy of this move cannot be limited to a couple of hilarious clips. Check out all of the painful fashion, wooden acting from Penthouse pets, and really unfunny jokes. DOWNLOAD or get it from iTunes.

Seems like they should only exist on a VHS box.

When you're done here, follow the podcrawl on to the next movie with The Rogue Riffers and PICASSO TRIGGER.

WILD BEASTS episode is here

I was joined by good ol' Jason Farrell and new guest Joey Cruz to discuss Franco Prosperi's WILD BEASTS from 1984. This slab of Gorgonzola falls into the "Nature strikes back" category of disaster/message/exploitation films with an ecological warning about our modern ways. Get the episode on iTunes or HERE.
Mario & Princess Peach relish a new challenge.

Without a doubt, the best actor in the film.

Ep49 - The Three Supermen Films Xperiment

Here it is. This is the doozy that led to the extended hiatus. You know how you're not supposed to use a Ouija board by yourself? It turns out, you shouldn't do strenuous psychological, psychotronical experiments on yourself, either. Here's where Matt tried to watch all of the Three Supermen movies (1967-86), one each day, by himself and report his findings. He got in over his head into the world of bulletproof spandex, heists, Europop, and increasingly lousy sequels.
Matt returned and put the results out so that we can move forward, on to regular podcasts with guests and laughter and fun and no deep-hurting....

LUCKY SEVEN...HALLOWEEN in APRIL!

So, if I get a time machine and kill them, I can prevent the Power Rangers from happening?

The subtle, understated use of color in '80s clothing. I don't miss it.
Scott & I discussed the '86 Hong Kong kids' movie LUCKY SEVEN. Think Little Rascals meets Goonies meets Benny Hill or something. I don't know. Download it here.

NEXT UP: We are pushing #halloweenInApril HARD! If you tweet, start promoting this new holiday. There are virtually two Christmases now. Let's have 2 interesting holidays in the year, too! For our part, we'll be bringing the scary with 1981's The Pit. Join us! One of us! One of us!

BOARDINGHOUSE

The Boardinghouse episode is now available. You can get it through iTunes or download it from HERE (right-click & 'save as'). Enjoy!
Jim is an unusual boss and his hobbies make performance reviews a little uncomfortable.
Lita Ford called...she wants her...everything back.

Next up is a little Italian cheese from the wave of Raiders of the Lost Ark rip-offs. This film was also made during the 3-D movie boom of the early '80s. We're watching it in 3-D and you can, too! What, you don't have RED/CYAN glasses? This manufacturer will send a free pair for the cost of a SASE (self-addressed stamped envelope) and a stamped envelope to send it in. FREE 3-D GLASSES!

Watch the movie in 3-D HERE
or in boring old 2-D HERE

O Canada...WTF?!

We discussed 1985's The Peanut Butter Solution, a warped and bizarre "family" film from our neighbors to the north. This is about a kid who got his hair scared off, so the ghosts of some winos he was nice to give him a recipe to make hair restorer...seriously. He overdoes it and becomes a hair-growing machine...then he gets kidnapped. It's weird. Oh, and Celine Dion sings on the soundtrack. Ugh.
You can get the episode on iTunes or download it directly here (right-click and 'save as').

"Apply diarrhea and spittoon-contents liberally directly to scalp"

NEXT UP:
We'll be watching the Italian godfather of gore Lucio Fulci's fantasy epic CONQUEST...a film that can't possibly live to its poster...or can it?
